If you can't see the Print and Cancel buttons, your monitor is set to a low screen resolution. Reader wasn't designed for low-resolution displays (the minimum recommended is 1024 x 768). However, you can work around this limitation. Do any of the following to print your document:
After you set overprinting options, you should use the Overprint Preview mode (View Overprint Preview) to see an approximation of how the overprinting colors will print. You should also carefully check overprinted colors on separated artwork using integral proofs (where each separation is shown in register on a single piece of paper). From Acrobat to generate a new PDF, and use the 'simulate overprint' option. If, for example, you have 0/0/0/50 CMYK text set to overprint 100/0/0/0, it will render the text as 100/0/0/50, changing the color of objects to achieve the same result as overprinting. This is an issue for us, as we're trying to print documents that need flattening (this is what overprinting does). Am I missing something here, is there a way to enable overprinting on printed PDFs? Note: Please don't confuse simulate overprinting with overprint preview, of which doesn't apply when printing.
Note:
(Windows) On some monitors, the Windows taskbar covers the Print button. You can hide the taskbar so it appears only when you mouse to the very bottom of the screen. Right-click the taskbar and choose Properties. In the Properties dialog box, select Auto-hide the Taskbar, then click OK.
Set the Taskbar properties to hide the taskbar so you can select the Print button
You can print double-sided if your printer supports double-sided (duplex printing) feature.
Note: Double-sided printing is also called duplex, back to back, front and back, or two-sided printing.
The printer driver controls the options, not Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader. Check your printer documentation to see what features your printer supports.
Note:
There could be a scenario when a printer actually supports duplex and this option does not appear on Print dialog. In such cases, you may click on printer properties to directly access this option from printer preferences.

You can print a color PDF in shades of gray (also known as grayscale or composite gray).
• In the Print dialog box, enable Print in grayscale.
You can scale the page to shrink or enlarge pages when you print. You can automatically scale to fit the paper or manually scale by percentages
• In the Print dialog box, click Size and then specify the scaling options.
You can print a large format document, such as a poster or banner, by splitting the page across multiple sheets of paper (called 'tiling'). The Poster option calculates how many sheets of paper are needed. You can adjust the size of the original to best fit the paper and specify how much each 'tile' overlaps. You can then piece together the tiles.
You can print more than one page of a PDF onto a single sheet of paper. Printing multiple pages per sheet is also called n-up printing (such as 2-up or 6-up). You can specify how the pages are ordered, either horizontally across the page or in vertical columns.
You can print a multipage document as a booklet. The pages are laid out two per sheet. When you collate, fold, and staple the double-sided sheets, the result is a single book with the correct page order.
For step-by-step instructions, see Print Booklets and PDFs.
You can print comments either in place (like sticky notes on a page), or in a list or summary.
In the Comments and Forms area, do one of the following:
You can print a portion of a page in a PDF. Use the Snapshot Tool (Edit > Take a Snapshot) to select just the area you want to print. The area can be text, graphics, or both. You can print the selected area full size or resize it to fit the paper.
Printing problems can have various causes. To identify the issue, start with this helpful tech note: Troubleshoot PDF printing | Acrobat, Reader
The PDF is password protected, and printing is notallowed
If you receive a password-protected PDF, enterthe designated password to print the document. Some protected documentshave restrictions that prevent you from printing, editing, or copyingcontent in the document. If a document has restrictions on printing, contact the PDF author.
The default Protected Mode greatly enhances the security of Reader. To determine if Protected Mode is interfering with printing, temporarily disable it. Right-click the document, and choose Document Properties. Click Advanced, to view if protected mode is enabled.
To disable protected mode, choose Edit > Preferences and click Security (Enhanced) on the left. Deselect Enable Protected Mode At Startup. Close Reader, restart it, and try to print the document again.
Note:
To ensure maximum security, when you finish printing, reselect Enable Protected Mode At Startup.
Overprint simulation approximates how blending and overprinting of colored artwork looks when printed on an offset press. You can simulate the effects of overprinting on a color desktop printer by selecting Simulate Overprinting in the Advanced Print Setup dialog box. Overprint simulation converts spot colors to process colors for printing. If you intend to use a file for final output, do not select Simulate Overprinting.
Note:
Color printers vary greatly in color reproduction quality. For that reason, proofs from a service provider are the best wayto verify how the finished piece will look.

What should I do if Adobe Reader is asking to save a file when a document is printed?
In case, Adobe reader is prompting to save a file when you click on print, then click Advanced print dialog and uncheck Print to file option.
Note:
What should I do to print comments available on the PDF document?
There are certain annotations (example: pop-up notes) which are available on the PDF document and the annotations do not print by default unless you want them to be printed.
This has been intentionally designed so that such annotations do not hinder the view of the content available behind them.
However, there may be cases when you do want them to be printed. To print the pop-up notes and other annotations:
Adobe Reader crashes on printing/ Adobe Reader does not Print after clicking Print button
This could happen due to an Adobe Acrobat installation file corruption. In order to resolve this issue, ensure you are using the latest version of Adobe Reader/ Acrobat application.

Ifyou have not changed the transparency of your artwork with the Transparencypanel, the fills and strokes in the artwork will appear opaque, because the top color knocks out, or cuts out, thearea underneath. You can prevent knockout by using the Overprintoptions in the Attributes panel. After you’ve set your overprint options, you can preview the overprinting effects on‑screen.

InDesign also has overprint simulation, which is useful for simulatingthe effects of overprinting spot and process inks on a compositeprinting device.
Black ink applied to text or native InDesign objects is overprintedby default to prevent misregistration of small black-type characterspositioned over color areas, or of color areas outlined with blacklines. You can change black ink settings using AppearanceOf Blackpreferences.
Your design workflow may require a certain color to be set tooverprint. For example, you want to print all the text in your publicationin a specific color. Consider the following options:
Automatictrapping in InDesign—either as built‑in trapping or Adobe In‑RIPTrapping—nearly eliminates the need for manual overprinting. However, manual overprinting can be an effective solution in the rare caseswhen you can’t use automatic trapping.
Use the following guidelines to determine whether or not to use overprinting:
You can overprint strokes or fills, paragraphrules, and rules above footnotes. You can also simulate overprintingof spot colors.
Youcan overprint strokes or fills of any selected paths using the Attributespanel. An overprinted stroke or fill doesn’t need to be trapped, becauseoverprinting covers any potential gaps between adjacent colors. You can also overprint a stroke to simulate a trap (by overprintinga color you’ve manually calculated as the proper combination oftwo adjacent colors).
Keep the following guidelines in mindas you apply manual overprinting:

The Overprint Stroke and Overprint Gapoptions in the Paragraph Rules dialog box can be saved as part ofa paragraph style.
InDesigncan automatically insert a rule to separate footnotes from the bodyof the document. You can choose to overprint the rule.
Overprintsimulation is useful for simulating the effects of overprintingspot inks with different neutral density values (for example, redand blue). When you print to a composite output device using overprintsimulation, you can see if the resulting color is one that you want tooverprint or knock out.

Toknock out black objects in InDesign, you must prevent the blackswatch from overprinting. Unlike most color swatches, which knockout by default, the black swatch overprints by default, includingall black strokes, fills, and text characters. The 100% process blackappears as [Black] in the Swatches panel. Knock out black objectsby either deselecting the overprint default in Preferences or byduplicating the default black swatch and applying the duplicatedswatch to color objects that knock out. If you disable the overprintsetting in the Preferences dialog box, all instances of Black knockout (remove underlying inks).
Note:
It can be cheaperand easier to have the print shop overprint process black on thepress.
Note:
Overprint [Black] Swatch at 100% doesnot affect tints of [Black], unnamed black colors, or objects thatappear black because of their transparency settings or styles. Itaffects only objects or text colored with the [Black] swatch.
